My e-ticket

MANCHESTER UNITED  4  LIVERPOOL  3
(After Extra Time)
Scorers:  McTominay, Antony, Rashford, Diallo; MacAllister, Salah, Elliott

Exactly eight years after my last United-Liverpool match I got the chance to go to this one.  And watching from high up in the gods of the north-west Quadrant Stand I witnessed a classic encounter between England's premier two clubs.

The match was a roller-coaster contest from start to the very end of extra time with the winning goal scored in the 122nd minute!

Personal Note:

  • 8th time attending this fixtures - 7 Old Trafford & 1 Anfield
  • 6th time seeing Manchester United in FA Cup
  • Overall 18th time seeing Liverpool - first time in FA Cup

SEASON 2023/24

SCOTTISH PREMIER LEAGUE

Venue:  CELTIC PARK

CELTIC  3  ST JOHNSTONE  1

Scorers:  Kyogo, Kuhn, Forrest; Conner Smith

A good performance from Celtic that should have yielded more goals but a combination of indifferent finishing and inept officials both on and off the field kept the home goals count down to three.

Kuhn's first goal at Celtic Park.

Personal note:

  • 63rd time attending this fixture
  • Breakdown - Muirton Park 1, McDiarmid Stadium 14, Celtic Park 47 and Hampden 1
  • Overall the 65th time seeing St Johnstone

CELTIC  4  LIVINGSTON  2

Livingston twice pegged Celtic with two excellent solo strikes but two late goals sees Celtic advance to the semi finals.

Maeda is the man of the match scoring a hat-trick with the fourth Celtic goal coming from his Japanese team-mate Kyogo.

Warm up

MATCH 1956 - Wednesday 28 February 2024

SEASON 2023/24

SCOTTISH PREMIER LEAGUE

Venue:  CELTIC PARK

CELTIC  7  DUNDEE  1

Scorers: Carter-Vickers, Idah, O'Riley, Maeda, Taylor, McGregor, Kelly; Mellon

Celtic blitz Dundee with six first half goals and add a seventh in second, all from different goalscorer.

Although Dundee have a man sent off it doesn't get any worse and indeed they earned a consolation goal in the dying minutes to the game to reduce the deficit to 7-1.

Personal note:

  • 68th time attending this fixture with 62 of them in the league
  • Overall the 69th time see Dundee - 17 at Dens Park and now 52 at Celtic Park

MATCH 1955 - Sunday 25 February 2024

SEASON 2023/24

SCOTTISH PREMIER LEAGUE

Venue: FIR PARK

MOTHERWELL  1  CELTIC  3

Scorers: Spittal; Idah(2), Palma

My second visit to Fir Park this season and like the first one there was late drama in time added on as Celtic won the three points with two late strikes.

It was certainly "a game of two halves" for Celtic in terms of performance. First half was very laboured with few chances however they were transformed in the second after a change upfront.  Idah replaced Kyogo and the second half was just a series of Celtic chances.

Personal note:

  • 124th time attending this fixture - 111th in the league
  • 54th match at Fir Park - 47 Celtic matches

SEASON 2023/24

ENGLISH FA PREMIERSHIP

Venue: OLD TRAFFORD

MANCHESTER UNITED  1  FULHAM  2

Scorers: Maguire;  Bassey, Iwobi

Attendance: 73,487

My third Man U match this year and despite going into the game in good form they struggled badly to get into the game without of their main striker Rasmus Hojlund who was missing due to injury.

Fulham totally dominated the game and despite conceding an equaliser in the final minute deservedly won it deep into stoppage time (90+6 minute).

Unfortunately one of the players I always enjoy watching Willian of Fulham also missed out due to injury.

Rasmus Hojlund - A big miss today

My view today from the North Stand (section N41)

The huge East Stand

Personal note:

  • My 78th Manchester United match with 50 of them at Old Trafford
  • 4th time seeing Fulham
