An enjoyable day in the capital watching my first game in the Meadowbank Stadium, built for the Commonwealth Games. Despite the eight lane running track the huge stand affords an excellent view of the match.

The game is remembered most for the dubious refereeing performance of Bobby Madden. Rangers* managed on the day by caretaker Graeme Murty are able to avoid defeat despite a poor recent run which saw the departure of manager, Mark Warburton.

CELTIC 4 ST MIRREN 1
Scorers: Lustig, Sinclair, Dembele, Griffiths; Davis
Jack Ross' St Mirren took a lead into half time and even had a great chance to double their advantage before Celtic hit back with four second half goals.
The club marked the passing of one of the club's greats Tommy Gemmell with a minute's silence and black armbands.
