MATCH 2077 - Monday 3 August 2026

SEASON 2026/27

SCOTTISH PREMIER LEAGUE

Venue:  CELTIC PARK

CELTIC  1  DUNDEE  0

Scorer: Nygren

Celtic began their league campaign at home to  Dundee with the unusual kick off time of 7:30 on a Monday evening however it didn't stop a massive crowd turning out to see Celtic firstly, unfurl the league championship flag and then getting off to a winning start.

The win was a narrow one but should have been more comfortable had the Celts not been as wasteful in front of goal.

SEASON 2025/26

SCOTTISH CUP 5th Round

Venue:  CELTIC PARK

CELTIC  2  DUNDEE  0

Scorers:  Adamu, Tounekti

Celtic made it through to the next round of the Scottish Cup but only just.  A goal with the last kick of the ball saved them from an early exit at home to Dundee.

A quiet Celtic Park erupted in the 97th of "normal time" as Celtic finally scored and within two minutes of extra time the small crowd nearly took the roof off as Celtic took the lead which was enough to see them through.

MATCH 2040 - Wednesday 3 December 2025

SEASON 2025/26

SCOTTISH PREMIER LEAGUE

Venue:  CELTIC PARK

CELTIC  1  DUNDEE  O

Scorers:  Maeda

Celtic dominated the match but created few clear cut chances and in the end had to settle for a single goal victory.

The fans were happy to settle for this as it meant Martin O'Neill's short stint as interim manager ended on a high.  If this is O'Neill's last managerial job it will be fitting that he ended his illustrious career at Celtic Park were he spent 5 successful years at the start of the Millennium.  While former Celt, Steven Pressley was in the Dundee dugout for this time at Celtic Park.

SEASON 2025/25

SCOTTISH PREMIER LEAGUE

Venue:  CELTIC PARK

CELTIC  6  DUNDEE  0

Scorers:  Engels(2), Idah, Maeda(2), Kuhn

Celtic recorded another big home win against Dundee just as they did a year ago (7-1 on 28022024). The goals were scored by players from across Europe (Ireland, Belgium and Germany) and Japan.  Among the goals there were some stunning solo efforts from Engels (second) and Kuhn while the 4th was a thing of beauty and a real team goal from one end of the pitch to the other and finished off in style by Maeda to make it a Goal of the Season contender.

An injury time penalty rescued a point in the City of Discovery for Celtic.  After twice equallising Dundee took a 3-2 lead into the dying moments of the game and looked all set for a rare win however conceded the very late penalty.

Celtic make multiple changes and give a slow, ponderous performance until a few of the rested players come on as second half substitutes.  Alister Johnston makes an immediate impact with the first goal.

A rare trip to the city of Dundee's other stadium across the road from the Tannadice Stadium.  This was my first visit in 9 years and my first time in the Bob Shankly Stand.

James Forrest is the man of the match scoring both Celtic goals to win the points.

Celtic blitz Dundee with six first half goals and add a seventh in second, all from different goalscorer.

Although Dundee have a man sent off it doesn't get any worse and indeed they earned a consolation goal in the dying minutes to the game to reduce the deficit to 7-1.

  • 68th time attending this fixture with 62 of them in the league

SEASON 2021/22

SCOTTISH PREMIER LEAGUE

Venue:  CELTIC PARK

CELTIC  3  DUNDEE  2

Scorers: Giakoumakis(3);  Mullen, Sweeney

Great Greek Giorgos Giakoumakis

Maybe a European hangover or taking their opponents too lightly but a straightforward home match against the bottom side in the league turns out to be a real struggle. However an outstanding goalscoring performance from Greek striker Giorgos Giakoumakis wins the three points. After a slow start from Giakoumakis, today maybe a new star is born.

My 67th time seeing Dundee (60 in Premier League all v Celtic) who have their new manager, Mark McGhee in the stand.

A new era in Celtic's history with many of the historic quadruple treble winners gone or in the process of going a team of new players and a new manager from around the world being assemble.

New Japanese signing Furuhashi (or Kyogo to his new friends) marks his home debut with a hat-trick.

Again we are in the Lisbon Lion Stand as the crowd is restricted to just 22,500.

Season:  2015/16
SCOTTISH PREMIER LEAGUE
Venue: CELTIC PARK

CELTIC    0    DUNDEE    0

Dull boring football returns to Celtic Park.  This was the 3rd goalless draw in 14 SPL home matches this season and the 4th time the one upfront system failed, not to mention all three Europa League ties.  In 90 minutes the Dundee keeper only had to make one good save and his team-mates where very comfortable throughout.
Ronnie Deila has proven time and time again he is out of his depth at Celtic.
A year ago this week Celtic lost 1-0 at home to St Johnstone therefore a 0-0 draw at home to Dundee is hardly progress.
The club has got a major decision to make Peter Lawwell is taking the club backwards.

First of four home matches in 11 days!

Celtic rip Dundee apart scoring 6 (could've been 12!) but the best moment was when Emilo Izagurrie going for his hat trick after scoring a quick double in the second half took a penalty and missed by a country mile.

Personal note - this was my 60th Dundee match all bar one against Celtic.

Celtic move to within touching distance of another title triumph

CELTIC    5   DUNDEE    0
Scorers: Griffiths, Brown, Commons, Forrest, Bitton

Friday night football came to Celtic Park and over 44,000 fans turned up to see Celtic turning on the style with a five star performance against top six opponents, Dundee.
Brown finished off a great passing move to give Celtic a 2-0 half time lead but the pick of the goals came just before the end of the match as Bitton scored his first Celtic Park goal with a majestic long range passing shot into the postage stamp corner. The ball clipped the post on it's way in to add to the quality of the strike which left the fans gasping in awe.

Personal note:  58th Celtic-Dundee match - 42 at Celtic Park & 16 at Dens Park

Gary Mackay-Steven was born to play for Celtic - another terrific goal, another terrific performance from the ex-Dundee United player.

My first visit to Dens Park in over 20 years.  Ticket in the Main Stand which hasn't changed since my first visit there way back in 1983.
