MATCH 2083 - Wednesday 2 September 2026

SEASON 2026/27

SCOTTISH PREMIER LAGU

Venue:  CELTIC PARK

CELTIC  3  ABERDEEN  0

Scorers: Duran, Nygren, Yang

The first meeting of the season between these old foes and Celtic continue their good start to the season while Aberdeen, now managed by Stephen Robinson, have had an indifferent start to their campaign.

Three first half goals secured the 3 points for the home side.  Aberdeen to their credit tightened up in the second half to deny Celtic the same amount of scoring chances they enjoyed in the first 45 minutes.

Personal note:

  • Overall this was the 141st time attending this fixture since 1981 with 116 in the league

CELTIC  2  FALKIRK  1

Scorers:  Duran(2);

Two first half goals ultimately proved to be enough for Celtic to take the three points as Falkirk were only able to half the deficit in the second half.

I had a new seat and view for the day as my daughter had my seat.

SEASON 2026/27

Qualifying Round 1st Leg

CELTIC  3  LASK  0
Scorers:  Nygren, Duran(2)

The scene is set.

As always with UEFA Champions League qualifiers at Celtic Park the atmosphere is a mixture of excitement and nervous tension.  Tonight was no different although the three goals from Celtic and two goals ruled off side for the Austrian champions helped to lift the tension slightly.

This was Celtic's first meeting with LASK Linz from the north of Austria close to the Czechia border in UEFA competition.

It has to be noted that the fans from Linz where a credit to their club supporting their players throughout despite a difficult night.

Personal note:
  • This 1st time seeing LASK.  Overall the 5th Austrian club I've seen.
  • This was the 8th time seeing Celtic play Austrian opposition

MATCH 2077 - Monday 3 August 2026

SEASON 2026/27

SCOTTISH PREMIER LEAGUE

Venue:  CELTIC PARK

CELTIC  1  DUNDEE  0

Scorer: Nygren

Celtic began their league campaign at home to  Dundee with the unusual kick off time of 7:30 on a Monday evening however it didn't stop a massive crowd turning out to see Celtic firstly, unfurl the league championship flag and then getting off to a winning start.

The win was a narrow one but should have been more comfortable had the Celts not been as wasteful in front of goal.

SEASON 2026/27

FRIENDLY

Venue:  CELTIC PARK

CELTIC  2  AC MILAN  2

Scorers:  Duran, Forrest;  Camarda(2)

Celtic's last pre-season match before the season starts for real and they welcomed seven time European Champions, AC Milan to Paradise.  My favourite foreign team mainly due to the wonderful players like Franco Baresi and Paulo Maldini.

Thankfully both clubs wore their traditional kits.  Celtic in the magnificent hoops of green & white and Milan in their equally famous red & black stripes. The two finest kits in world football.

Milan's new manager, Ruben Amorim was in the away dug out for his first match in charge, his first job after leaving Manchester United.

It was far from vintage AC Milan with the Rossoneri gifting Celtic the opening 2 goals certainly not in the class of Baresi and Maldini.  Celtic took the lead into half time but it didn't last long as two goals within the first 7 minutes of the restart brought the sides level again.  There were no more goals so the entertaining contest ended in a draw.

CELTIC  1  MIDDLESBROUGH  1

Scorers:  Duran;  Strelec

Typical pre-season match - good competitive first half with both teams finding the back of the net and then the second half continually interrupted with a string of substitutions from both sides.
Middlesbrough brought a good following of around 5,000 fans who gave their team plenty of support especially in the first half.

Personal note:
  • The 2nd time attending this fixture
  • 5th seeing Middlesbrough but the first time in Scotland

TITLE DECIDER

A dramatic day at Celtic Park for the final league match of the season as both sides had a chance to win the league, Hearts only needed to avoid defeat to win a rare championship while Celtic needed nothing less than a win.

In a tight first half, Hearts took a late lead but there was still time for Celtic to find an equaliser to go into the dressing room at 1-1.

As the second half progressed into the final few minutes it looked like Hearts were going to achieve their objective of winning the league but Celtic scored with only three minutes to go and then deep into time added on scored another to secured three points, the league title and to make them champions once again.

Glasgow's greens and blues under a perfect blue sky and played on an excellent green pitch in the wonderful month of May.

Celtic had to came from behind to go into the dressing room level at half time and then produced a rousing second half display to come out worthy winners in the final Glasgow derby of the season.

CELTIC  3  FALKIRK  1

Scorers: Maeda(2), Tierney; Wilson

Matchday 34 of the league season which meant the split matches got underway with Celtic desperately needing a win to stay in connection for the title.

The game was keenly contested but Celtic gained the upper hand with two first half goals.  In the second, Falkirk reduced the arrears to one before Celtic victory in the final 10 minutes of the match.

Beautiful day in Paradise

Scorer: Oxlade-Chamberlain

Celtic strike early to take the lead but fail to build on their good start which leads to a more nervy second half than it should have been for the home fans.  They have to settle for a win over a convincing performance.

The match ends with the same scoreline as the first encounter of the season at Celtic Park.

SEASON - 2025/26

SCOTTISH PREMIER LEAGUE

Venue: CELTIC PARK

CELTIC  3  MOTHERWELL  1

Scorers: Yang(2), Cvancara;  Just

Motherwell opened the scoring but Celtic managed to get level before half time.  The result was decided on a big VAR call in the second half when Celtic were awarded a penalty and due to the nature of the foul - a grab rather than a challenge in the box - a red card was given and Motherwell were reduced to 10 men.  In full view of the referee who failed to see such a significant incident.

Yang - the games MVP - with 2 goals

Hibs took the points in the "Battle of the Greens" scoring in each half which 10 man Celtic could not match in the second half.  The winner came in the final two minutes to take wind out of Celtic.

Kick off in pleasant conditions but it didn't last as second half was played in monsoon

After progressing from the group stage Celtic and Stuttgart are paired together at a similar stage and timing of their previous meeting in the same competition in 2003 however the result this time was vastly different.

Celtic made it through to the next round of the Scottish Cup but only just.  A goal with the last kick of the ball saved them from an early exit at home to Dundee.

A quiet Celtic Park erupted in the 97th of "normal time" as Celtic finally scored and within two minutes of extra time the small crowd nearly took the roof off as Celtic took the lead which was enough to see them through.
