30 years ago today I went to Ibrox Stadium for Scotland v Italy, just to see this guy -

FRANCO BARESI

the magnificent Franco Baresi.  He had come out of international retirement and gave his country a commanding performance.  It was the start of the Italians World Cup campaign  that would lead all the way to the 1994 FIFA World Cup Final against Brazil in the USA.

Celtic need to come from behind after Ross County scored from the penalty spot just after half time.  The game was littered with stoppages especially in the first half with a record number of players needing treatment however this was lost on the referee who decided on one minute of injury time at the end of the first 45 minutes.

Personal note:

• 20th match of the season, 17 involving Celtic including 12 at Celtic Park.
• 2nd time attending this fixture this season, making it 23 overall.

Celtic's Japanese forwards Kyogo and Maeda both score to ensure the victory in North Lanarkshire.  

Personal note:

• My 3rd visit of the season to Fir Park to take my overall total of games there to 52
• 45 of the 52 were Motherwell v Celtic matches since 17 September 1983
• 4th Motherwell match of the season and 131st time seeing them overall

With 3 minutes to go this average game burst into life as Dundee United equalised to make the score 2-2.  With Celtic about to drop points for the first time at home this season an all out attack yielded two very late goals to win the game.
