Another pre-season friendly and this time a chance to see Norwich City.   The two sides wear their traditional kits which is very pleasing on the eye as they look terrific gracing the Celtic Park pitch.

This is the 4th time seeing Norwich but they are unable to keep up their 100% win record having won the previous three at Carlisle(2009), Celtic (2012) and Blackpool (2014).

Milestone - FIR PARK - 50th match

 



Motherwell v Sligo Rovers was by 50th visit to Fir Park, home of Motherwell FC.  My first visit was in 1983 for a reserve match.  Although most of the matches have been Motherwell v Celtic in the league I've managed to attend a number of different fixtures in Europe, cup ties and friendlies.

Teams seen are Motherwell, Motherwell Reserves, Gretna and Scotland U-21 as home sides with the following teams providing the opposition - Celtic 38, Aberdeen 2, Hearts, Dundee United Reserves, Iceland U-21, Italy U-21, Liverpool, Man Utd XI, Borussia Dortmund, Nancy, Derry City and Sligo Rovers.

Total goals seen 133.

Fir Park is the only ground I've went to hospitality having won a competiton in the Metro free newspaper on it's Glasgow launch in 1999.  Motherwell beating Celtic 3-2 in a Sunday evening kick off on 28 November 1999.

The worse day on a personal level was 7 Jan 1984.
The highlight was Gretna v Derry City in 2006.
