MATCH 2066 - Monday 27 April 2026

SEASON 2025/26

SCOTTISH PREMIER LEAGUE

Venue:  OLD TRAFFORD

MANCHESTER UNITED  2  BRENTFORD  0

Scorers:  Casemiro, Sesko;  Jenson

Monday night football in Manchester for a very interesting fixture against two teams going all out for European qualification. United looking to get back into the Champions League and Brentford looking to qualify for a UEFA competition for the first time in their history.

From the very beginning both sides missed great chances.  United should have gone ahead inside 3 minutes before taking  deserved lead.  Brentford should have been levelled before half time but missed a series of good chances and then United made them pay when they scored their second goal a minute before half time.

In the second 45 minutes United sat back and Brentford applied the pressure however they only managed to half the deficit

MATCH 2064 - Sunday 19 April 2026

SEASON 2025/26

SCOTTISH CUP Semi Final

Venue:  HAMPDEN PARK

CELTIC  6  ST MIRREN  2
After Extra Time
Scorers:  Maeda, Ralston, Iheanacho(2), McGowan, Nygren;  Mandron(2)

For 90 minutes it was an unremarkable game with Celtic leading 2-1 however it quickly escalated into a semi final classic when St Mirren scored a dramatic equaliser which took the game to extra time.  Then from nowhere exploded into life scoring four goals in the first period of extra time to eventually book their place in the final on the 23rd of May.

As pretty usual for the past 10 seasons I was in the East Stand.

MATCH 2063 - Saturday 11 April 2026

SEASON 2025/26

SCOTTISH PREMIER LEAGUE

Venue:  CELTIC PARK

CELTIC  1  ST MIRREN  0

Scorer: Oxlade-Chamberlain

Celtic strike early to take the lead but fail to build on their good start which leads to a more nervy second half than it should have been for the home fans.  They have to settle for a win over a convincing performance.

The match ends with the same scoreline as the first encounter of the season at Celtic Park.
